At least 21 people were killed and 50 wounded today when a parked car bomb hit a funeral procession for a man who worked against al Qaida in Iraq, police and medical officials said.
The attack occurred about 9am local time in Fallujah, 40 miles west of Baghdad.
The funeral was being held for Alaa Zuwaid, a 60-year-old restaurant owner who was part of a tribe working with other tribal leaders against al Qaida in Iraq.
Mourners were on their way to the cemetery when the bomb exploded. Zuwaid was killed earlier in the day when unknown militants shot him in front of his house, police said.
