Emirates fire: Video shows plane crash land at Dubai International Airport
Footage shows black smoke pouring from belly of aircraft
A video has emerged showing the moment an Emirates plane came to a standstill after crash landing at Dubai International Airport.
Footage taken from the airport building shows the plane with no landing gear visible, sliding along the runway with smoke billowing behind it until it comes to a halt.
The plane is skidding in a curve, and comes to a rest leaning on its right wing, as black smoke quickly begins to pour from the belly of the aircraft.
“Are there people in that plane?” A woman can be heard asking.
“Oh my god, the smoke’s getting darker”, she adds.
The Dubai government media office said flight EK521 was arriving on schedule from India when it “crash-landed“.
”All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far,“ a statement added.
Emirates airline said there were 275 passengers and crew on board the Boeing 777 which was flying from Trivandrum in India to Dubai.
“Our main priority now is the safety and well-being of all involved”, the airline said.
