Israeli woman Hadar Buchris, 21, killed in stabbing attack at bus stop in West Bank in latest stabbing attack

Her alleged attacker was killed immediately by Israel Defence Forces soldiers

A 21-year-old Israeli woman was killed on Sunday after being stabbed by a Palestinian man in the West Bank.

Hadar Buchris, originally from the city of Safed in the north of Israel, was killed on Sunday 22 November as she waited for a bus in Gush Etzion.

Her suspected killer, 34-year-old Atzam Tuabata from the nearby town of Beit Fajar, was killed immediately by Israel Defence Forces soldiers.

According to the Israeli security agency, Tuabata did not have a criminal record prior to the attack.

Buchris was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Centre in Jerusalem after being stabbed. Dr Ofer Martin, head of the trauma department, told The Jerusalem Post that she suffered multiple stab wounds to the head and chest, and was not able to be revived by doctors.

The killing of Hadar Buchris was the third such attack that took place in the West Bank on Sunday, and one of the latest incidents in a wave of stabbings that have seen a number of innocent Israeli civilians killed in the street.

On Saturday, four Israelis, including a 13-year-old girl, were stabbed and wounded in the sourthern city of Kiryat Gat.

The two-month-long cycle of violence in Israel has seen almost 20 Israelis and around 80 Palestinians killed.
