'Sex on beach' man hopes to return to Dubai

A British businessman convicted of having sex on a Dubai beach spoke today of his regrets about what happened, but said he hoped to return to the Arab state.

Vince Acors, 34, was initially given a three-month jail term for public indecency and having unmarried sex with Michelle Palmer, 36, but this was suspended on appeal.

He returned to the UK on Christmas Eve and spoke of his experiences for the first time at a press conference in central London today.

Acors admitted he was "extremely naive" but said heavy consumption of alcohol and public displays of affection between unmarried couples are widespread in Dubai.

He said: "We just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."
