Syria: Syrian military releases explosive Latakia operation footage

Video released by the Syrian Army shows footage of recent military operations in the country.

The government forces say the footage was filmed in rural areas outside of Latakia, Aleppo and Salma recently, showing their military activity against suspected Isis militants.

(RT)

The video includes footage of the aftermath of airstrikes, helicopters firing missiles and ground operations undertaken by the Syrian Army.

General Ali Abdullah Ayyoud, head of the Syrian General Staff, claims recent gains in the area have been made in conjunction with the Russian Air Force.

In an interview with Rossiya 1 TV, Russian President Vladimir Putin ruled out the possibility of ground operations in Syria.

With Moscow’s military intervention in Syria already into its third week, President Putin maintained that it is targeting Isis

and extremist groups, despite concerns from the US and its allies that mainstream groups are also being hit by Russian forces.
