Three killed in protests against the government
Three people died and hundreds were injured in Yemen yesterday when police used live ammunition, tear gas and water cannon against anti-government protesters in cities across the country.
Two people were killed in the capital, Sanaa, during the crackdown, with fighting also reported in at least three other cities. Demonstrations against President Ali Abdullah Saleh have been gathering momentum since the success of the Egyptian revolution last month.
