Two Turkish soldiers and 15 Kurdish rebels have been killed in clashes in Sirnak, in the country's south-east.
The escalating violence in the region comes on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the capture of the Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan – a day often marked by protests or attacks by rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
