US drones kill nine suspected al-Qa'ida militants
American drone strikes in southern Yemen have killed nine al-Qa'ida-linked militants, including the terrorists' regional media chief and the son of Anwar al-Awlaki, a high-profile American al-Qa'ida cleric who was killed last month.
According to local sources, the raid took place in the south-eastern province of Shabwa, and is believed to be part of an escalating campaign by Washington against al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula, one of the terror network's most active global "franchises".
