AMRITSAR - Indian police yesterday shot dead a militant Sikh leader, dealing a crippling blow to the Sikh separatist campaign, a senior police officer said, AP reports. Gurbachan Singh Manochahal was killed in a gunbattle at a village near the Sikh holy city of Amritsar, said Kanwar Pal Singh Gill, Punjab's Director General of Police.
