Military loses sex battle
A federal judge ruled that a new law banning the sale of sexually explicit material at United States government-operated military stores violates the First Amendment, which pledges freedom of speech.
In a victory for Penthouse magazine, the US District Judge Shira Scheindlin ordered that the Department of Defense be restrained from changing the military's stock or selling policies. General Media Communications, which publishes Penthouse, sued the department to block enforcement of the Military Honour and Decency Act. Reuters - New York
