In a warning to the military to stay out of politics, President Kim Young Sam yesterday sacked four generals, including the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, for participating in a 1979 coup, AP reports from Seoul.
The president's office said General Lee Pil Sup was fired, along with three other officers involved in the coup that put President Chun Doo Hwan in power.
