President Daniel arap Moi of Kenya, in an unprecedented appeal, urged wealthy Kenyans to donate food to thousands of their compatriots made hungry by prolonged drought, Reuter reports from Nairobi.

He said hunger had reached worrying levels and has set up a special unit to handle relief services for victims.
