BANGKOK (Reuter) - Thailand's new parliament yesterday voted unanimously to repeal an amnesty granted to generals who ordered soldiers to fire on pro- democracy demonstrators in May. The amnesty was given by General Suchinda Kraprayoon in the last hours of his brief but bloody rule as prime minister.
Scores of demonstrators were killed and hundreds wounded in the protest. Anti-Suchinda forces called for murder trials for him and his military allies. The government of Chuan Leekpai said it must now consider what action to take.
