A flu-like illness that afflicted Gulf War veterans could result from a variety of causes ranging from stress to fine desert sand, Reuter reports from Washington. But Dr Joshua Lederberg, who headed a study of the problem, said no cause or single illness had been pinpointed. The Pentagon said it was releasing thousands of classified military documents in response to allegations it was not forthcoming on the issue.
