The US and South Korea yesterday stepped up pressure on North Korea to renounce its quest for nuclear arms by refusing to cancel next year's war games, Reuter reports from Seoul. The US and Korean defence ministers said North Korea's nuclear recalcitrance remained a threat to the stability of the Korean peninsula.
