Nationalists win

TAIPEI (Reuter) - Taiwan's ruling Nationalist Party won the first general elections in more than four decades yesterday, with 53 per cent of the vote. The main opposition Democratic Progressive Party, which wants Taiwan to declare independence, got 31 per cent.
