Kathmandu - A political crisis in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal deepened yesterday when Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala resigned after his ruling Nepali Congress party lost a crucial vote in parliament. Radio Nepal said Mr Koirala had an audience with King Birendra, tendered his resignation and suggested the dissolution of parliament. Reuter
