Lagos - Pressured by a crippling oil strike aimed at ousting the military regime, Nigeria's rulers yesterday promised to release imprisoned union leaders and hinted they would free the man who apparently was elected president last year. The Information Minister, Jerry Gana, invited union leaders for a meeting, and said the government would not oppose the release of Moshood Abiola, who was arrested after he declared himself president.
