Jerusalem (AP) - A group of extremist Jewish settlers took over three buildings in the middle of an Arab neighbourhood in east Jerusalem last night, raising fears of a new conflagration in the city.

Dozens of agitated Palestinians streamed to the site, some threw stones at the settlers and smashed their parked cars' windscreens. They were kept away by armed settler guards.
