The body of another Briton has been found in Oman, bringing the number of people who drowned in flash floods in the Gulf Arab state to eight. This brings the number of Britons drowned in the flood on Friday to five, the British Embassy in Muscat said. The fifth Briton has not been named. The four already known to have been killed were Andrew Deller, from Sussex, William Love from Glasgow, Karin Salt, who lived in Oman, and Julian Whippey.

Geraldine Power, from Ireland, was also among those who drowned last Friday. An earlier report that a Dutch woman was among the victims was incorrect, said the spokesman. Two US airmen, Captain Scott Swanson, of Minnesota, and Senior Airman Zane R May, of Arkansas, were also killed in the flood when it hit a group of walkers. Reuter - Muscat
