OAU assailed

The Organisation of African Unity (OAU) summit opened with bitter criticism from Issaias Afeworki, President of its newest member, Eritrea, AFP reports from Cairo. He blasted the OAU for failing to stem Africa's 'growing poverty and backwardness'.
