Peking has reiterated its readiness to hold talks with the Dalai Lama if he drops all calls for independence, AFP reports from Peking.

The governor of the Tibet region offered to meet the Dalai Lama, but he also accused the spiritual leader of telling 'lies' about Chinese population-transfer policies making Tibetans a minority in their land.
