An Iranian MP said that the Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Velayati, may go to Saudi Arabia shortly to prepare for a summit meeting between Opec's two biggest oil producers, Reuter reports from Tehran.

The English-language Teheran Times quoted Jalal Sadatian as saying President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and King Fahd of Saudi Arabia would meet but gave no dates.
