Johannesburg (Reuter) - A top official of the radical Pan-Africanist Congress was quoted yesterday as saying the PAC's military wing carried out two recent attacks in the Eastern Cape in which five whites were killed.

The comments of the senior deputy president, Johnson Mlambo, in an interview with the Johannesburg Star, were the first from a PAC official confirming that the Azanian People's Liberation Army, had carried out the attacks which rocked South Africa. Transkei, meanwhile, rejected South African government suggestions that Apla was training in the 'homeland'.
