JERICHO - Israel finally freed 287 Palestinian prisoners yesterday after they agreed to stay here for 48 hours while talks go on over their fate, AFP reports. Israel tried to hand over the men to Palestinian police on Thursday to ensure they serve out their sentences in the enclave, in line with the autonomy agreement.
