The Pope will visit Australia early next year to perform a beatification ceremony for the nun who introduced Roman Catholic education in the country in the 19th century, Reuter reports from Sydney. The ceremony on 19 January will confer on Mother Mary Mackillop the title Blessed, bringing her one step away from becoming Australia's first Catholic saint.
