China's Foreign Minister, Qian Qichen, will visit Paris later this month as part of a thaw in relations that France hopes will yield lucrative contracts, Reuter reports from Paris. But the Socialist opposition leader, Michel Rocard, accused the government of dishonouring France, and Jean-Marie Le Pen, leader of the extreme-right National Front, said Paris was grovelling to a 'corrupt and discredited regime'.
