Britain has apparently dropped a key part of Chris Patten's democratic reform proposals, as a fifth round of talks with China over the Hong Kong's political future continues in Peking, AFP reports from Hong Kong. The two sides have apparently agreed that the legislative council after 1997 will be drawn from professions and not workers.
