An air force helicopter and a minesweeper battled against storms off South Africa's west coast to help save thousands of endangered Jackass penguins after an oil slick hit a breeding ground, Reuter reports from Cape Town. The slick smeared the coast of Dassen Island, threatening 20,000 Jackass penguins.
