Burundi's Prime Minister, Sylvie Kinigi, has left the French embassy to try to halt tribal massacres that have swept her country since a coup collapsed 18 days ago, Reuter reports from Bujumbura. French soldiers were sent to Ms Kinigi's residence to guard her. She is the highest- ranking official to survive the 21 October coup.
