Political prophet

Nairobi (AFP) - A Kenyan MP told parliament that she was a prophet who could talk with God. 'I had to pray a lot to cast away evil spells and witchcraft in the House, and it is after casting them away that I am now able to stand and talk freely,' Mary Wanjiru, of the opposition Ford-Asili party, said in her maiden speech.

Ms Wanjiru said God had told her that Kenya was on the verge of economic collapse because of 'sabotage' by ministers in the government of Daniel arap Moi.
