The Queen called on the United Nations yesterday to continue leading the world's response to "global dangers" while remaining true to its core goals of ensuring "security, prosperity and dignity" for all.
The Queen addressed the General Assembly for the first time in 53 years.
She praised the UN's achievements since its formation in 1945 as "remarkable" but also highlighted new challenges that have grown in recent decades – terrorism and climate change.
