Police are searching for a man who covered three university students with buckets of faeces over the last week.

On Monday, police announced a third attack had taken place at a university in Toronto, Canada, this time involving a woman at the University of Toronto.

The latest assault occurred around midnight near a campus building in the area of College Street and University Avenue, according to CP24.

According to the outlet, a man dumped a Home Depot bucket of what appeared to be faeces on a woman on the sidewalk and then walked off.

The assault comes after a first incident occurred Friday, when faeces were thrown on someone in the Robarts Library cafeteria, also at the University of Toronto.

Following the attack, the university said in a statement: "As a public university, we work to make the resources of our libraries as open as possible. What happened was shocking, and assistance was provided to those affected.”

A second attack occurred two days later and involved a student at York University in Toronto, according to CBC News, which reports the student was in the Scott Library when they were covered with “liquefied faecal matter”.

In a statement released Monday, Toronto police shared photos of the suspect, who has been described as “being in his late 20s, with a medium build” and wearing a “black hat, blue top, light-coloured pants and black gloves”.

Currently it is unknown if the attacks are linked, however, police are investigating, according to CP24.

Following the third incident, Mayor John Tory addressed the attacks, telling reporters: “I find this kind of behaviour inexplicable. You just can’t understand why anybody would go around and do this kind of thing.

“This is a person, to me, who has very serious issues it would seem. But the most important thing is that the person be tracked down and if you look at the number of people who seem to be in the library when these things happened... then it may really help the police if they come forward with every single bit of information they have.”
