The Pope, in a rare direct attack on an international organisation, attacked the European Parliament yesterday for a resolution that homosexual couples should be allowed to marry and adopt children, Reuter reports from Vatican City. Italy's largest militant homosexual group, Arci Gay, accused the Pope of 'homophobic racism' and of interfering in the affairs of sovereign states. The Pope told pilgrims and tourists in St Peter's Square: 'With this resolution, the European Parliament is asking that a moral disorder be legitimised'. He urged Europeans to reject the resolution.
