Flanked by a maiden with a flywhisk and a man with a golden staff, the body of Ivory Coast's late President, Felix Houphouet-Boigny, lay in state yesterday in the city he created from his native village, Reuter reports from Yamoussoukro. Heads of state, royalty and government officials from around the world will attend a requiem Mass today before the body is handed over to the late president's family for a family burial.
