Pressure on Saddam
Two senior Foreign Office officials are being sent to Iraq to keep up pressure on President Saddam Hussein to release two Britons held in a Baghdad jail. Paul Ride, 33, from Walthamstow, east London, and Michael Wainwright, 42, from Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, allegedly strayed into Iraq illegally. Ride was jailed for seven years last August and Wainwright for 10 years last May.
