Edward Albee, author of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, won the 1994 Pulitzer prize for drama for his play Three Tall Women, Reuter reports from New York. The novelist E Annie Proulx won the prize for best fiction for her novel The Shipping News and the historian David Levering Lewis won the prize for biography for his portrait of the black rights leader W E B Du Bois.
