Two foreign journalists were shot dead by Somali gunmen outside the Italian embassy here, Reuter reports from Mogadishu. They were Ilaria Alpi, an Italian, of RAI-3 television, and Miran Hrovatin, a cameraman, whose nationality could not be confirmed. The UN said the killers wanted to steal the journalists' car.
