SA 'blood ban'

JOHANNESBURG - South African blood banks are considering banning black donors because of a high incidence of the HIV virus among blacks, AFP reports. The plan, put forward by Professor Anton Heyns, the South African Blood Transfusion Service chief, was condemned as racist.
