PRETORIA (Reuter) - President F W de Klerk said yesterday his government would hold new democracy talks next month, with or without the African National Congress.
Mr de Klerk said the meeting would be attended by groups that subscribed to basic constitutional principles such as federalism. He said the government did not want to elbow out the ANC. Yesterday, a gang of 20 men rampaged through a train headed for Johannesburg killing two passengers and injuring six by throwing them out of windows. In Natal province, police reported five blacks were killed in three separate incidents.
