Acourt-martial jury yesterday convicted US Army Sergeant Stephen Schap, 26, of premeditated murder for beheading his wife's lover, AP reports from Hanau, Germany.
The defence had argued that Schap was in an irrational rage after learning that his wife was pregnant by his friend, Gregory Glover, 21, and should be found guilty of a lesser charge than premeditated murder, which carries an automatic life sentence under US military law.
