Ships sunk
Monrovia (AP) - The West African intervention force protecting the Liberian capital says it sunk two ships allegedly carrying arms and fuel to rebels in the interior. A statement from the seven-
nation force said Nigerian jets bombed the ships on Thursday as they headed for the rebel-held port of Buchanan, south-east of Monrovia. It was unclear which flags the ships were flying or whether their crews were rescued.
