Singapore said it would lift distribution curbs it imposed last year on the Economist for failing to publish an official response to allegations by a former opposition MP, AFP reports from Singapore. A statement from the Ministry of Information and the Arts said that from 15 January the weekly would again be allowed to circulate freely in Singapore. The statement said the Economist would not be required to appoint a local distributor nor to have its copies marked with stickers stating it was approved for sale.
