Skater's ethics under scrutiny

The US Figure Skating Association has opened an inquiry into whether Tonya Harding violated its standards of ethics or sportsmanship when she denied any prior knowledge of the attack on her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, but admitted that she did not come forward with 'things that I learnt' afterwards, AP reports from Portland, Oregon. The panel's recommendation could lead to her being left out of the US team for the Winter Olympics next month in Lillehammer, Norway.

Prosecutors handling the assault charge have subpoenaed videotape of Ms Harding's recent television appearances to find out what she knew and when she knew it.
