US authorities feel they now have enough evidence to arrest the skater Tonya Harding over the assault on her rival Nancy Kerrigan, Reuter reports from Portland.
Portland's Oregonian newspaper said investigators wanted to 'exhaust all possibilities for strengthening the case before making a final decision'. They were cautious because they were aware of the international spotlight on them and also knew that an arrest or indictment could lead to Ms Harding, 23, being dropped from the US Winter Olympics team.
