The former head of Spain's Guardia Civil, Luis Roldan, on the run after being accused of multi-million-pound embezzlement, has been reportedly spotted on the island of Margarita, off Venezuela, writes Phil Davison in Madrid.
El Pais newspaper said Mr Roldan, who has revealed documents allegedly implicating Felipe Gonzalez, the Prime Minister, in corruption, had shaved his beard and was wearing a wig.
