Colombo - The truce aimed at ending Sri Lanka's protracted ethnic bloodshed was shattered as separatist Tamil Tiger guerrillas pulled out of peace talks and blew up two navy gunboats at Trincomalee harbour, killing 16 people. President Chandrika Kumaratunga put troops on alert.
