Paris - The French daily Liberation, once the newspaper of a generation of left-wingers, plans to shed a quarter of its staff next year in a fresh attempt to stem losses. Journalists, who would bear two-thirds of the 95 redundancies, have called a strike on Monday to oppose cuts. Reuter
