Sweden said yesterday it would launch a formal inquiry into allegations that Nazi gold from the Second World War had found its way into official Swedish bank vaults.
Sweden's central bank said: "We have found there is reason to carry out a fresh investigation of the bank's archives to discover if any light can be shed on the Riksbank's acquisition of so-called stolen gold." Reuters - Stockholm
