SYDNEY (AFP) - Firefighters warned that the destructive power behind the bushfires raging around this city had not been neutralised.

'There is a lot of mopping up going on but all hell will break loose if we get really bad weather in the next few days,' said a fire services spokeswoman. The Sydney weather bureau forecast rising temperatures and dry, gusting winds.
